I'm not entirely sure that people will like this movie, purely because of it being made in CGI rather than from the usual Aardman models. Part of the beauty of Aardman (and traditional methods of animation) is the lack of perfection. The audience can see the finger prints, the smudges on the cells and we realise the beauty of the animation and appreciate the amount of time and effort that it has taken. 'Flushed Away' seems to be flushing the lively hoods of the animators modelers, sculptors and animators down the toilet literally with this film. Lets hope that all goes well (unlike Madagascar and that Shark Tale movie which were both below expectations.
Aardman have won the IBC International Honour of Excellence Award. On hearing the news David Sproxton, Executive Chairman of Aardman Animations said:
"We are delighted to have won this award. Model animation is a creative and technical process and everyone in the team contributes to its success through commitment and innovation. It is very gratifying to be recognised for the small part Aardman has played".
